Adoptable Dogs

How To Adopt

If you are interested in adopting one of the Extra Mile dogs, complete our adoption application.

Click here to fill out an online adoption application.
Click here to view the adoption application in PDF format and print it.

You will be contacted by an Extra Mile representative to discuss your application and to schedule a time to meet the dog in which you are interested. We will conduct a home visit to make sure you and the dog are a good match and reserve the right to determine the most appropriate home for Extra Mile dogs. Once you are approved as a prospective adopter, a two-week trial adoption will be scheduled. We will spend ample time explaining the dog’s behavior modification and what you should do to continue the dog’s progress. If the trial adoption confirms that the situation is win-win for the dog and adopter, the adoption will become permanent.

The adoption fee for dogs is $125.

We currently have no dogs available for adoption.

Rosie

Rosie is a shy little girl who is 1 1/2 years old. She is a beautiful brindle plott hound with a white mark on her chest. This poor girl was badly treated before she was brought to the shelter and has suffered from malnutrition. When it's feeding time, Rosie becomes a tornado, she's so excited about eating. She loves to play with other dogs and is just learning how much fun life can be! Rosie is working on her housetraining skills and knows how to use a dog door. She'll need some help and encouragement with this new skill in her new home until she's perfect. Rosie recently had a preventive veterinary visit and is heartworm negative, microchipped, spayed, and up-to-date on her vaccinations. Rosie would do best in a family who is patient and loving as she continues to learn how to live in a nurturing home. Contact her Deena for more information or to meet Rosie at deenadmorris@yahoo.com.
